El Toreador

friday night to celebrate j's last day of work, the end of the week, and my moving to SF. J, D and i went to have a wonderful mexican feast. we went to a little place in west portal called el toreador.
the interior was very picasso-esque, there was color everywhere, and a super fun decor. the wait was little long, but there is pub next door and the host knows to go there to find you when you're table is ready (however the pub does
not take cards, cash only so be prepared). the second you sit at your table delicious hot salsa and two bowls of chips are placed before you. this is the most important thing to me when eating at a mexican restaurant. i ordered the chicken chimichangas, they were the best chimichangas i had ever had in my life. d had the chicken mole and she says she doesn't have a quote but that she enjoyed them, i didn't sample them so i don't know. j had the chile relleno and he says "it was very good, the rice was fresh...and GO PATRIOTS!" we also split a pitcher of margaritas, i feel like its hard to make a bad margarita, so they were fine. the price may have been the best part of this restaurant, it was about $50 for the three of us, and we all ordered full size entrees and drinks. the service was outstanding! all in all i would give this restaurant an B+ because the bathrooms were pretty gross.
